Equipment
requiring protection from water-vapor or humidity will be preserved
in water-vapor barrier blankets. Units having unpainted bare
metal surfaces will be coated with preservative then wrapped in
flexible corrugated fiberboard to prevent puncture or abrasion of
the barrier. The wrapped unit will be enclosed in an
aluminum-laminated water/vapor barrier. Silica gel desiccant
will be included to keep humidity and moisture levels at a minimum,
and a humidity indicator card will be included to keep monitor
humidity levels. The air will be evacuated and the barrier
will be heat-sealed.
